Fall Frivolity

Evan on the Junior Zip Line!
I love deals.  Maybe too much... but I love deals.  A couple months back, I saw a deal for Big Splash Adventure hotel and water park in French Lick.  For $169, we got one night and two days at the water park; a hot breakfast for all of us in the restaurant; four passes to the pumpkin patch with activities and four pumpkins; four passes for laser mini-golf; and four passes to a haunted house (which we did NOT  use...!).  I thought it would be a great little trip while the boys were on fall break!

We arrived at the water park about noon yesterday, and we were water-logged until well after dark.  We stopped swimming and sliding only to eat and play some arcade games with the tokens a life guard gave to the boys.

Splash area at sunset...
Are these two buddies, or what?!!?
It was definitely not as big or fancy as Great Wolf Lodge, but did the boys notice or care? Em... no.

Today, we got up, played laser golf, and went to the cute little pumpkin patch.  Brrrrrrrrrr.  It was a little too cold for my taste, but again, the boys didn't care.  They were having too much fun!  There were farm animals, tractors, hayrides, a fire, a huge trough of corn to play in, a kiddie zip line, and of course, pumpkins.

Let's get going!
Can I have one?!!?
Ready for the hayride
Ah!  This is the life!
Mommy got in a picture!!!  Mommy was c-c-c-coold!!
Feeding "Bandaid" the goat
That Bandaid was one eager beaver.... goat.

Come heeeeeere, goat!  I've got food for you!

We're all home safe and sound now, and gearing up for a Tuesday of work and school.  Yahoo.  It was a quick get-away, but greatly needed!  Have a great week, everyone!

Living Room Makeover

Well, this is what our living room used to look like... it has looked like this for over 11 years.  No matter where we have lived, the living room always looked the same, because we've had the couch and chairs for so long. They are extremely well-used furniture.  Marcus' dad gave them to him used about a year before we were married, and we have used the set ever since.  This furniture has barely survived three dogs and two boys.   Broken springs, missing padding... mystery stains everywhere.  Just lovely...

After we redid the floor, we started saving for some new furniture, and thanks to a sale, we were able to get not only couches this past month, but some new tables as well!

Boys are waiting for the furniture delivery
LOVE them!  The couches are a brown leather-blend, because there is no way we could afford the real thing. ;)  I just wipe off the dog hair - awesome!

The boys have thoroughly tested the couches, and have given them their seal of approval.  Marcus still wants to get a wing-back chair to match, but we're waiting for a good deal.   ... Love a good deal - makes the furniture more comfortable, I think!

Cousin Time

Evan, Maya, Nikolai, Zachary & Lehna
So, so, so SOOOOO far behind again!  I'm not sure I have ever been this backed up.  Between work, school, homework (yeah... Kindergarten HOMEWORK... things have changed) various activities, I just have not had time to sit down, fiddle with pictures and get them up.

Backtracking to, uh... September, maybe?  The Wagners came down and we dragged all the kiddies to the Children's Museum.  Man, those kids had a blast... and the adults were exhausted!  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Just the right size for a ride

Uh-oh... Marcus got the camera...

You want HOW MANY dollars for that apple?!!?

"Can I help you?"

Is Maya a wonderful hostess or what?
